Tips for small PDFs
- Fewer pages fit better: around 100KB is comfortable for one or two scanned pages, so remove pages you don't need.
- Scan in good light and keep pages straight. Clean, white pages compress far smaller than grey, shadowed ones.
- Text stays readable at small sizes, but fine print and photos inside the PDF lose some detail.

Frequently asked questions
Will the PDF be under my limit?
Yes, unless the document has too many pages for that size. In that case the tool tells you, and you can remove pages or pick a larger target. It counts 1KB as 1000 bytes, so the file passes whichever way a site measures.
Will I still be able to select or search the text?
No. To reach small sizes, each page is saved as a compressed image, so the text becomes part of the picture. It stays readable, but it can't be selected, copied or searched. Keep your original if you need that.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole process runs in your browser, and your file never leaves your device. That makes it safe for ID documents and certificates.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. Remove the password in your PDF app first, then compress the unlocked copy.
