Adding 21% VAT (Belgium) to your net amount.
How to add 21% VAT
Multiply the net amount by 0.21 to get the VAT, then add it on. For example, 1,000.00 EUR net + 210.00 EUR VAT = 1,210.00 EUR gross.
How to remove VAT from a price
Divide the VAT-inclusive amount by 1.21. For example, 1,000.00 EUR including VAT ÷ 1.21 = 826.45 EUR net, so the VAT is 173.55 EUR. Subtracting 21% of the gross instead would give 790.00 EUR, which understates the net amount. It's the most common VAT mistake.
