Adding 7.5% VAT (Nigeria) to your net amount.
How to add 7.5% VAT
Multiply the net amount by 0.075 to get the VAT, then add it on. For example, 1,000.00 NGN net + 75.00 NGN VAT = 1,075.00 NGN gross.
How to remove VAT from a price
Divide the VAT-inclusive amount by 1.075. For example, 1,000.00 NGN including VAT ÷ 1.075 = 930.23 NGN net, so the VAT is 69.77 NGN. Subtracting 7.5% of the gross instead would give 925.00 NGN, which understates the net amount. It's the most common VAT mistake.
